Today is Bug's fourth birthday.
Our first task of the day was to get a picture of her in the birthday hat, which will be cleaned up and included on her birthday cake for her party this weekend (a picture of Bug in the hat, not the hat, that is). Then we made banana muffins for breakfast.
Once the muffins were in the oven, Bug opened her first present, a kid-proof camera from Uncle B.
Bug loves taking pictures, but needs to work on her aim and holding the camera steady.
Besides such silliness, she took way too many pictures of clutter on the floor. Ceilings, Bug!
Since she has several adults spoiling the crap out of her, we're staggering the gifties throughout the day. So far she's opened three. Her second and third choices weren't as exciting as the camera, as shown by her immediate queries about other possible gifties. Jem gave Bug an Alaska-themed alphabet workbook, and I gave her clothes. (Spellarinza was an early birthday present, but she's not much new and exciting anymore. :( ) More on this in my next post.
After breakfast Bug had her ballet class. I'll refrain from posting the hysterical image of her looking less than graceful.
See that girl in the forefront? She's not listening. hee. Bug did really well today, listening and following along with her teacher, and not trying to help instruct her fellow dancers. (That first class was pretty rough with her new, no-nonsense teacher.)
Bug had decided that today she was going to wear the soccer shirt that Daddy sent to her. She ended up wearing it at lunch, then decided that she may sleep in it instead.
Right now Bug's off with Mom Mom and Pops doing a little shopping. I suggested to Pops that they get her a balloon. I'll have the camera ready for their return, as I'm sure that Bug will have more than just one.
For the rest of today, the plan is to make her birthday cake (chocolate with banana icing and sprinkles), open more presents, go to dinner at her favorite restaurant (where she wants them to sing to her), eat her birthday cake, and maybe go swimming (the only open swim at several of the pools in the area is later, so if she's not too tired, we'll go - otherwise it'll be another day).
